EGG DONATION
Egg donation, also known as ovodonation, is a highly complex assisted reproductive treatment. In this process, eggs from a donor (either a directed donor, such as a family member, or an anonymous donor) are used in a in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. These eggs are fertilized with sperm from the recipient’s partner or a donor, and the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient’s uterus.
This assisted reproductive technique offers hope and possibilities for those struggling with fertility issues due to low egg reserve and/or quality, or serious genetic conditions (monogenic diseases or structural rearrangements) they do not wish to pass on to their offspring, or consequences of diseases (previous ovary removal due to cysts, endometriosis, adhesions, or others).
At ViaFERT fertility clinic, we have the latest technology to support you during the egg donation treatment. The donor selection process is made simple, safe, and swift.
All our donors undergo psychological, nutritional, and medical evaluations (chronic degenerative diseases or sexually transmitted infections).
In our egg bank, we stand out as one of the few groups globally that conducts genetic testing on all our donors. This screening rules out carriers of 1) Fragile X syndrome (a leading cause of cognitive impairment worldwide), 2) Cystic fibrosis (a major cause of lung and pancreatic endocrine disorders), and 3) Spinal muscular atrophy (a leading cause of motor limitations). This allows you to make secure choices.
Our egg donation program employs facial recognition software, enabling us to find a donor who shares the closest physical resemblance to you.
